As soon as the ice starts to melt in Montreal – you’ll hear people talk excitedly about the summer festivals – but July is still far away, and in the meantime, there are actually lots of events and activities that will liven up your springtime schedule. Check it out:
Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities: Montreal darlings Cirque du Soleil return this Spring with yet another mesmerising show from April 24 to June 29 (a world premier) – step into the beautiful, mysterious and upside-down world of an ingenious inventor – if you’ve never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, now’s the time (and many of our apartments are within walking distance to the big top!)
White Water Rafting: If you’re a fan of extreme watersports, then this is the perfect season for you – the Riviere Rouge Rapids are at their fiercest just after the winter snows melt. The rapids are just outside the city, and there are some great packages that include a steak dinner – if you survive!
Bal en Blanc: Nightlife lovers will go crazy for the Bal en Blanc (The White Party); a hugely popular rave that takes place over Easter weekend (April 18-20). The main event (in Palais des Congres) features headliner DJs from all over the world, non-stop beats for up to 15 hours, and attendees dressed completely in white. This year, you can catch Hardwell, Fatboy Slim, Deep Dish, and Carl Cox, among others.
Montreal Beer Festival: Taking us from the freshness of Spring to the humid days of Summer is the Mondiale de la Biere – a five day event (June 11-15) will feature over 500 different beers, tastings, workshops, and some cool snacks including kangaroo, bison, deer and Bavarian pretzels!
Festival TransAmerique: This unique dance and theatre festival features bold, contemporary performances from over 30 companies (local and international) This year’s edition takes place from May 22 to June 2.
