Reinvention – the Montreal Biodome.

March 5, 2012

Montreal’s Biodome is home to 750 plant species and 230 animal species. The Biodome also display the 5 ecosystems of the Americas: the Tropical rainforest, Laurentian Maple forest, Gulf of St Lawrence, Labrador Coast and Sub Antarctic Islands.
Not everyone thought it was a great idea to transform an Olympic bicycle-racing stadium into a natural-history exhibit, but the result is one of the city’s most popular attractions. Four ecosystems—a boreal forest, a tropical forest, a polar landscape, and the St. Lawrence River—are under one climate-controlled dome. You follow pathways through each environment, observing indigenous flora and fauna. A word of warning: the tropical forest is as hot and humid as the real thing, and the Québec and arctic exhibits can be frigid. If you want to stay comfortable, dress in layers.

Furthermore until November 27th, you can see the Birds of Prey Demonstrations where you will learn about these captivating birds’ behaviours.
