nightlife in muzique

Montreal is famous for its heady nightlife and has something to suit all tastes and budgets. Rue St Laurent is the place to go for upscale bars and nightclubs, Rue St Denis offers relaxed outdoor terraces, while establishments on Rue St Catherine gives you a glimpse into the seedier side of the city. That’s an impressive list and we haven’t even mentioned Chinatown, Old Montreal and the gay village on St Catherine Est yet!  You are so spoiled for choice that it’s almost impossible to choose, so we are going to make it easy for you with our list of five of the top nightspots in this bustling city.

A glamourous hotspot complete with red carpets, VIPs and a velvet rope, Muzique has been amongst the most popular bars in Montreal since its opening in 2009.  The dark leather booths and opulent gilding dotted throughout the rooms ooze style and sophistication. It has a distinctively A-list vibe and people clamor to be on the guest list. Cypress Hill, Guns n Roses, Tommy Lee and Flo Rida are amongst the clientele.

  • Stereo Nightclub, St Catherine

In the heart of Montreal’s party district is after-hours venue Stereo Nightclub. The whole club has been designed to ensure the best dance party experience possible for its patrons. The sound-proofed walls are three feet thick for sound proofing, the dance floor has shock absorbers to assist with clubber fatigue while premium acoustics and sound quality provide the best audio experience for the clubber.

The sleek and exclusive Blvd44 specializes in old-school bottle service and luxurious VIP sections – with treatment to match. The bottle service will see waiters serve up cocktails and champagne to you while you party to the best House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Top 40 songs on their laser-equipped dance floor. You need to dress to impress if you want to visit, as to keep with the high-end vibe they only accept the most well-dressed into the club.

Since it opened eight years ago Le Rouge Bar has established itself as a favorite amongst Montreal partygoers, with some of the best parties and events in the city being held in its rooms. The atmosphere is a little more relaxed than some of the more upmarket, high-end venues in St Laurent, though you should still dress to impress to be allowed inside.

Sharp, clean lines and a monochrome palette dominate the modern decor at Jet Club, a relative new comer to the Montreal nightclub scene. Located in the entertainment district, it has two dance floors, booths, a VIP section and two bars set over two floors. With regular party theme nights and first-class DJs, Jet Nightclub assures us that it is here to stay.
