If you’ve survived a winter here you’ll know the sweet pleasure of a Montreal summer, and nothing beats the warm breeze of a July evening in this city – nothing! So grab your significant other and take advantage of one of these awesome evening activities:
Mont Royal Lookout Point: Walk up the winding path of “the mountain” (you can start from Peel Street downtown or rue Rachel in the Plateau) in the late evening and if you’re lucky you’ll be rewarded with an escort of fireflies lighting up your way. Get to the top and you’ll see the sunset behind reflected in the glass of downtown’s skyscrapers. Perfect for a romantic bit of exercise.
Movies in the park: Virgin Radio is hosting its annual Movies in the Park so bring chairs, blankets and your appetites! They serve free hot dogs, popcorn, coke, and tons of other goodies! This FREE BBQ starts at 7pm and the movie starts at sunset. Click here to see the weekly movie & park locations for July.
The old port on two wheels: Treat your honey to a late dinner down by the waterfront at one of the many terraces. Then go rent rollerblades or bikes from Montreal on Wheels (rentals up to 24hrs). The buildings and streets of the Old Port are beautiful at night, and there are plenty of places to stop for a kiss and an ice-cream.
Cruise the St. Lawrence River: Ever seen people dining on glass-roofed boats at the Old Port? These are called dinner cruises. Depending on the package you choose, these boats offer a wide range of afternoon brunches, gourmet dinners and nights where you can enjoy the evening and watch the international fireworks from the boat with your special someone.
