What to see at Osheaga?
This weekend is finally Osheaga, the summer 3 day festival people have been waiting all year for. If you find yourself lucky to live in Montreal then lucky for you, there are plenty of great acts to see throughout the year. But for the tons of people who are making their way to town now for Osheaga, excited for all the acts they’ll be seeing- there is so much so we wanted to narrow it down for you. There’s an estimated 100,000 people going, so the better prepared you are the better!
I start off with Little Dragon, because although I have seen her twice in the last two years her shows are the best dance parties regardless if you know the music or not. You’ll be moving, swaying and making a huge mental note that you’ll download her stuff as soon as you get home.
Moving onto one of the biggest names in recent times, Florence and The Machine. Have you heard her voice? Words can’t even properly explain the transcendence she gives, so be sure to check this out as everyone I’m sure will be there, and possibly to see her amazing get up.
For more dance parties, what outdoor festivals should and are about: MGMT and Justice will sure be crowd pleasers. Keep it going and going, and drink plenty of water so you don’t pass out with the intense heat predicted for the weekend.
For more roots-y stuff, check out Common, and Santigold for smart lyrics and good background beats. And even british group Bloc Party for some nice soul searching, with their metaphysical lyrics.
Have fun, wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water and have an amazing time. Summer festivals are a short glimpse of the summer, so make the most of it!
