The Montreal Fashion and Design Festival on August 3-6, 2011

The Montreal Fashion and Design Festival (MFDF) will begin on August 3rd. The MFDF is a free outdoor festival that will take place on McGill College, where the street will be close down to traffic for the duration of the festival. This event combines the best of fashion, design and music.

There are numerous events planned for the MFDF. One of the highlights is “la course à talons hauts” which will take place on August 3rd at noon. La course à talons hauts is a fundraiser event for the Canadian Cancer Society, where men and women will get together and race in their finest heels. An other anticipated event  is Jean Paul Gauthier designer ready to wear collection which will star his muse Tanel Bedrossiantz.

In addition, throughout the festival many local designed will present their collections. On August 5th, St-Catherine street will be close down for pedestrians between Mansfield and University where shoppers will be able to enjoy discounts and indie designer stores. The festival will end on August 6th with the popular Lingerie show by stylist Andrew McNally.
