The 2011 Pride Parade will take place at one o’clock on the corner of Guy and Rene-Levesque west on August 14th in Montreal. The Pride Parade has been a Montreal tradition since 1979; every year there is a different theme, this year’s being: “3011: Odyssey of the Future.”
Hundreds of floats from local sport teams, community groups, gay friendly businesses and lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual organizations will be involved in the parade. The floats will be competing for prizes in several categories such as most crowd-pleasing float, best choreography by group, best costume and make-up, community group float of the year and corporate float of the year.
The parade will slowly make its way to Place Emilie-Garnelin, where celebrations will continue throughout the evening.
