A recent survey conducted by Deloitte and Forbes states that 41% of corporate executives and talent managers are worried that they will not find talent in global and developing markets. Also, 72% of managers are specifically worried that there will be a shortage of talent in the Research and development industry.
For many these findings are extremely surprising given that even with the extremely high unemployment rates in the US and around the world, companies are still struggling to find skilled workers worldwide. Not only are executives worried about finding talented employees they are also extremely concerned with their companies’ ability to retain talent in the long-run. Furthermore, 80% of the executives that were surveyed believed that their company’s talent programs needed to be greatly improved.
