The Urban Forest, hosted by the McCord Museum, is a “hidden haven” located on Victoria, a small street near McGill University. The Forest was designed by Paula Meijerink, a landscape architect from the Netherlands who is currently working as a visiting professor for McGill University in the Faculty of Architecture. This project was undertaken by the McCord Museum in order to display its contemporary side.
The Urban Forest is a wonderful destination for children since it is decorated with bright ribbons, log seats and the pavement is covered with polka dots. It is a popular destination for lunch since you can bring your own lunch or eat at McCord`s Café Bistro.
Every day between 12-3 pm several activities such as playing family tree detective or learning about ethnic groups and ancient cultures are offered. The urban Forest will remain open until September 5th.
